SMALL
ADJUSTMENTS:
STOVETOP POTPOURRI

I wanted to try something new (or technically old?) with the scents around my house. I came across an Instagram of someone boiling fresh ingredients for potpourri and got a flashback of my mom having a mini crockpot for her dried potpourri. The thought of boiling fresh ingredients (not toxic candles or plug-ins) just felt so good to me. And the smell? I won't lie, I was a little skeptical, but it takes over the space like a fresh warm blanket. A recipe isn't needed - just an ingredients list. For this, I used one orange, a handful of cranberries, 2-3 cinnamon sticks, and a heavy hand of cloves. What do I want to try next? I want to add some fresh pine, thyme, or rosemary to bring another note to the smell. I made an Instagram Reel here. One day I’ll get good at filming for both platforms.
What's a small adjustment, you ask? It's a swap you can make that may be more beneficial for health or sustainability reasons. Social media makes you feel like you have to uproot everything in your life - when in reality, if everyone on the planet just tried their best, we would be in a better place.
